- “My grief journey began in October 2012, when I arrived home from church to find numerous police officers in my driveway and on my porch. They told me that the love of my life and husband of 26 years was gone. Kenney had shot himself and was gone. My life and the lives of my entire family changed forever in that instant. The next morning the LOSS Team was at my home. They directed my brother to an agency to provide the cleaning that was required. They supplied books, brochures and pamphlets for us to review. Lezlie and a volunteer also came to my brother’s house shortly after Kenney’s death to talk to us in person and offer us resources for my grandson who was really struggling…They are always there when I need them and have made this journey easier,” said Carla Beard of Fort Worth.
- “We need to make the topic of suicide a public conversation. Having an open dialogue is the best prevention. It may save your life, your child's, or loved one's” said Elizabeth Anderson and Jessica Upchurch, Honorary Chairs of Run For Life!
